Sorry I've been MIA ignoring all of my blogging duties. I have been feverishly looking to get a car because I really need one! I finally found my car, my dream car! And it was a STICK SHIFT. Of course I have never driven a manual but I bought it anyway because it was perfect. So I guess I have to learn how to drive it now. Haha. I love doing things backwards. I think it'll take me a month (hopefully just a month!) to get good at it. I just need to be pretty good at driving it because I live in Charlotte where traffic is sucky and people drive sucky so I don't really have room for fuck-ups. And I'm scared of burning out the clutch! But other than that I love the car. Haha. It's even this pretty green color. Working so hard on my credit finally paid off! I got an awesome interest rate (especially for it being a used car). 5.99% Kaching. At least now I know how awesome I am at playing hardball with slimy salesman. Afterwards Jenny and I went to Michael's house. He made us maynaissey pasta salad and chocolate milkshakes in his fancy KitchenAid blender.

Other than that, I have been working a lot. I am only going to be working one day a week at the restaurant and (hopefully) going full-time at Anthropologie. That way I'll actually have two days off a week so I have time to work on things I want to work on! And play outside when it's gorgeous. I've been wasting all these months working and working and working. I'm so over it! That's it for now.

This Spring.

I looooooooooooove Spring and Summer. It's going to be awesome. We already have tons of exciting things planned and it's not even warm yet. Hehe. Irene is working on her clothing line with our mama. Their line is called "Recycle I.T." I'm so proud of them, everything is so high fashion and gorgeous. I'm always bragging to everyone about how good of a seamstress my mama is. Now I just need to lose all this winter weight so I can wear some of their designs! Eep. I just need to lose like 20 lbs. hopefully won't be that hard since I love playing outside and jogging when it's nice out. I just checked weather.com. This month will be pretty mild as well as March, then it's SPRING!! wwwwweeeeeeeeeeeee.

Irene and I are working on a joint art show...it's going to be a themed show where we both do the same illustrations in our individual style. They will be all animal drawings. Neither of us have anything yet; we'll have a month and a half to finish, but we're both really good at working on things when there's a deadline. Here's our animal list so far, let me know if you have an idea for a certain animal that would be neat.

Then we're going to design Twin Costumes for our annual Twin Birthday Party. It'll probably be at our new house on April 25th. We might get someone to DJ. Watermelon chair

Yesterday I bought the watermelon chair from work. If you can believe it the original price on the chair was $498 plus tax. I got it for $30! Hooray. It'll look cute in our house. I'm going to put it in the studio.



Today is Andy's 25th Birthday! Last night his mother, Barbara, who is the sweetest mama ever, took us out to Ru San's. Andy wouldn't let me tell them it was his birthday because they like making a ruckus banging on pots and pans--but you get free ice cream dessert! It's totally worth it! And they take a picture and put it up next to the bathroom. But whatever we still had a nice dinner. Sorry if the pictures are blurry, Andy's on a "no flash" kick, he says it makes the pictures look indie. Haha.

I loved this cake it was like a fanciful Funfetti cake. There's all kinds of random stuff on it: chocolate shavings, sprinkles, and gummies.

I got him some random, weird ass books I thought he would like, a reggae cd, a print of Native American art from a local artist, and I paid for his hostel in California.


He'll be at this conference until Tuesday morning. Damn, Anthropologie just called and asked me to come in early. I'm working all doubles the rest of the weekend so I'm sure I won't have time to do any fun crafting. *SigH*....I gotta figure something out. I have this nice studio and no time to do anything.

I jogged!

Today was a gorgeous day. Andy is still sick as hell and asleep all the time. Irene and I went on a jog tonight after I got home from work. It was a nice jog. It's cool having a jogging partner. So I decided that I have to get a car on my own....I haven't had a car in years! Weird*....anyways I guess I'm going to take a loan out from my bank and look for a car on my own. I have a strong idea of what I want. I'm sure that I can get it paid off relatively quickly..

I am working TWO jobs right now...part time at anthropologie and also part time at 300 East. I'm not doing too well money wise which is why I'm trying to sell my stuff. I'm going to try to set up an art show with Irene at Black Sheep. Jenny just had hers and did really well! But if i HAVE to spend money I either spend it at work (booo!) or on Etsy (yay!).

Munchkins

Munchkins have always been a personal favorite of all the stuffies I make. They're just so simple and adorable. And they're small and affordable ($10-13). So I decided that I would make it a shoppe staple and start making lots of them in different colors. I don't have any Munchkins left from the Craft Bazaar, so I have to make a little Munchkin army from scratch. I made only one tonight. This little lavender fella. I'm going to upload him to Etsy tonight if my computer would stop being so sllllooooooowwwww...

I normally just cut random shapes and start stitching away but I think the best way to go about it is to stick to my best designs and have stories behind them and just make those to keep things more consistent. So far I know I will make my Munchkins, Kitties, Dotties, and Teddys. I also have tons of little drawings that I need to paint. I wish spring would get here so I can get remotivated, I just feel so lethargic in the winter time.





In other news, Andy is sick 4 days before he leaves for Los Angeles. I'm pretty sure he has what I had.....oops! He has all the same horrible symtoms. I just drugged him with Nyquil so he's knocked out at the moment. *sigh* I had two whole days off and got nothing done! DAMN. Back to work tomorrow.

So I guess Andy is "in" Yardwork now? He played tambourine (hardcore tambourine) and bass on one song. It was a great show! They're playing another house show on Thursday.

Andy's Birthday Party!

So last night was Andy's birthday party. It was themed, "Be Free in the Trees with your Friends.." dress up as your favorite tree dwelling animal. We played Planet Earth in the background, had green balloons and a green light, it was pretty awesome. Dank ass dance mix, and none of the neighbors called the police. I didn't get any good pictures because I always get drunk and forget to.

Here is the only picture of me and you can't even see my costume! I'll try to post pictures of the costume another time. I used a red sweatshirt and made ears, mittens, a big ass tail with black stripes and a vest with a heart on the front. Irene made hers too. She's a black widow spider.


Andy worked his ass off making his costume which turned out awesome as well. He was an owl! I don't know what Matt Nelson's supposed to be.

So Andy's birthday party is tomorrow, and in his usual weirdness, the theme is "Be free with your friends in the Trees"---dress up as your favorite tree dwelling animal. And luckily my new favorite animal that I'm obsessed with happens to be a tree dweller.....THE RED PANDA!

They're herbivores, slightly bigger than a normal cat. I bet Mufficakes is bigger than a lot of them!


Look how cute they are! My costume won't be that great, considering how crafty I am, I reallllllly hate costumes and I'm always lazy and uncreative about costumes. So I'm going to make a simple felt tail and ears and work with this sweatshirt I got at Value Village. I don't even know if it will be post worthy. I do need to paint my face somehow!

Etsy Shoppe Update!

So I finally got off my ass and took some pictures outside today since it was sunny and Andy found the camera battery charger. I've been updating things sporadically throughout the day. I still have a lot of things to update, but I think I'm going to space them out a little to keep things interesting and fresh. Now that the shoppe has a decent amount of items with better pictures I'll be happy, and I'll update 2 or 3 items a day (my goal anyway). Went to the hobby store and got some neat things that I can work with to make some Valentine stuff.

Also I got myself a BLYTHE doll like I've been wanting for a while. Seeing all the cute handmade outfits on Etsy for her was too much and I had to get one. It's actually the mini Blythe which is significantly cheaper....I'll get a real size Blythe one day (maybe on my birthday!). I'm being a little bit PSYCHO about the whole thing. I've deduced that it's because I didn't have enough toys growing up and I never got the American Doll that I always wanted. I have always been obsessed with dolls since I was little, even the creepy porcelain ones with scary ringlets and victorian dresses. Anyway, I've already gotten her 3 custom made dresses from Etsy, which I will post when I get them, as well as a miniature storage trunk for her dresses, and a mini meal that consists of bread, brie, and a cup of coffee. She'll be hungry when she gets here.

Long time no update!

I haven't updated because I have been ill and also I can't find my camera battery charger and it's pissing me off because I can't be productive like I want to!! I wanted to take pictures of products today and upload to Etsy but the camera went dead and I couldn't find the charger anywhere. I definitely need to find it by Friday for the party or I'm in big trouble! Things are weird right now in the relationship department. Here was my horoscope in Creative Loafing:

Update

So I don't have a fever anymore but I'm all gross and congested still. I spent all day in the house but at least I got some work done...Andy and I cleaned up the house some....We're trying to get ready for his birthday party in a couple weeks. I made a couple Valentine's items for my Etsy Shoppe. The pictures are pretty horrid, so I have to retake them the next time there's a sunny day, I was just antsy to get some stuff up. For Valentine's I'm making some heart plushies, some plushies with love notes in their pockets, and maybe some cards.


Eric posted this picture on his Flickr today. It was last summer and we were all playing badminton in the field across from their house at Stratford. This was one of my favorite days of last year!

It's Snowing!

The one good thing about my sickness is that I get to stay inside the warm house and enjoy looking at the snow out the window. It definitely isn't "real" snow, but any snow is real snow to us..the kitties seem fascinated with it, they keep staring out the window intently. They won't walk in the snow though, it freaks them out! Today would be an awesome day to stay in and crochet from my Crochet to go Book. It's full of really cute patterns like these:





I have been really slack at doing anything artistic or crafty lately, I'm just not in the mood. I need spring to get here so I can get jump-started and motivated. I can't wait to start jogging at the bog again....and this time Irene's in town so I won't have to jog alone! It sucks to start from square one but I'm excited to start working out again. I'm treating myself to a nice hot cocoa right now to sooth my aching throat because it's freezing, and perfect for snow weather! Today I want lots of orange juice and soup...GOOD SOUP!

I'm Sick!

So I'm sick for the first time in like four years! I never get sick! I think it's a combination of not eating well and of course being around sick people. I'm pretty sure I have bronchitis, my throat hurts so bad, all i want is some TASTY SOUP! and nobody can bring me any because Irene is at work and Andy's helping his mom move so I'm stuck at the house all by my lonesome. Muffin is napping. Sushi is napping. I should probably nap as well considering i woke up every two hours or so last night in a sweat--i was sweating out a bad fever. I still have tons of work to do with online stuff (etsy and cafepress,etc) but I have been busy working (or being sick!). I did send an application via http://www.plushyou.blogspot.com. They do a plush art show once a year. We'll see what happens with that. This weekend is supposed to be really busy, I hope I get well in time or I won't be able to do ANYTHING!

I can't wait for the weather to get warm again so I can drop a few pounds by jogging instead of nesting and eating all the time. And so I can enjoy nice days like this at the bog.
